We actively encourage activities to include karaoke, bingo, films, indoor skittles, gardening, walks to the beach, manicures, and truffle-making to name but a few. We understand that exercise is also very important stimulation and our residents therefore enjoy membership of the local gym where they can participate in light exercise and swimming, fully accompanied by qualified staff.

For those who are less able, we encourage armchair exercise or light dancing.  Sensory therapies are also a very important part of our programme, with aromatherapy massages being offered each month, soft touch and fragrance sessions and craft work using textiles.

In addition to this, we are embracing new technology by assisting residents in sending e-mails and messages to loved ones living further away or abroad and some residents are regularly using Skype as a way of keeping in touch.

Residents enjoy use of a variety of lounges including a quiet reading lounge, a 1960s themed retro room and a fully equipped bar for those who are allowed a drink. Residents also enjoy their own Post Office and shop, and they have access to a large selection of DVDs to watch on our big screen. A sporting calendar is carefully watched for anyone with interests in any particular event and we have extensive garden areas and pots and shrubs for residents who enjoy a little outdoor gardening, or growing a few vegetables or plants.

We regularly enjoy visits from the local choir, school children and other entertainers. We have sing-along, easy listening, swing, classical singers and groups and choirs. Music is always a very welcome component to our programmes and looked forward to by most of our residents.

Staff enjoy organising our well attended Summer Fete, which takes place in July each year. This event is supported by many local residents and charitable groups, offering a wonderful afternoon out to our residents as well. This is one of several events that we hold throughout the year including Easter celebrations, Halloween party nights, and Bank Holiday fun days.
